All about fiscal registrar in trade

Fiscal registrar is a device that records the sale of goods and prints fiscal paper receipts. Fiscal receipts are required for tax reporting. Once the receipt is printed, sales data is automatically sent electronically to the tax authority’s server. Unlike a cash register, fiscal registrars work only with accounting software.
In the Torgsoft accounting software, you can configure automatic receipt printing and tax reporting. To do this, products are assigned a fiscal attribute, the "Connect fiscal registrar" option is activated, and a fiscal printer is connected. That’s it—you can start selling products with automatic fiscal receipt printing. The fiscal attribute in the software is assigned in the menu "Torgsoft → Inventory → Product Type," where the "Fiscal" option is set for the required product categories.
Functions of the fiscal registrar
-
Printing an X-report, which contains sales volume, cash and non-cash transactions since the beginning of the shift. This report can be printed as many times as needed throughout the day. It is used to verify if the amount of money in the cash register is correct. The X-report is not sent to the tax authorities; only the Z-report is submitted. It is useful to print the X-report before the end of a work shift and generating the Z-report to check whether all sales data is accurate.
-
Printing a Z-report—the final report for the entire working day, showing total sales amounts for the shift. After it is generated, all data is reset, and sales information is recorded in the fiscal memory of the registrar. Without this report, a work shift cannot be considered closed. The Z-report should be generated once a day, before midnight, when the cash register shift closes.
-
Printing a zero receipt—to check the functionality of the ECR, the clarity and accuracy of printing requisites on the receipt. It is also a fiscal receipt without specifying product positions.
-
The fiscal registrar can also print reports on sold goods, cancel a receipt in case of input errors, and record cash deposits and withdrawals.

Is there a difference between a fiscal registrar and a software ECR?
A software ECR can be purchased, registered, and configured entirely online, it does not require monthly payments, it cannot physically break, and any errors can be resolved remotely with technical support. In terms of functionality, a software ECR differs slightly from a conventional fiscal registrar—it also ensures tax reporting, fiscal receipt printing, and all necessary reports, but additionally allows tracking and control of fiscal and non-fiscal goods.
